I know a strictly military-focused show goes against Roddenberry’s vision, but what are the chances that we could see some sort of war-focused Trek in the future? The scenes in “Under the Cloak of War” (SNW 2x08… yes I’m a few weeks behind) fascinated me. What would a MAS*H-style show look like in Trek? Could the show...

I was born in 1989, so I grew up with the TNG era and ENT, and I always dismissed TOS as a kid as the cheesy 60s original version that TNG remade and left in the dust. It wasn’t until high school that I actually sat down and watched TOS and fell in love with it. I even now wonder if Kirk is better than Picard, it’s a debate...

So I’m partly posting this because I like DS9 and wouldn’t mind chatting about its episodes once in a while, so I’d love to hear people’s opinions in general about the episode....

I’m a huge fan of comic books and deep space nine I saw that two new comic series came out “star trek defiant” and “star trek dog of war” the series are quite expensive for someone who doesn’t have a lot of money, I just wanna ask those of you who’ve read em are they worth picking up?

My Dear Gen X,...

It’s been fun seeing so much of Kirk this season, but does that mean he’s now a regular? I don’t see how he could take a position on the Enterprise for years yet, so would that imply he just keeps coincidentally visiting all the time? Starts to strain plausibility after a while.

I first got into trek with the 09 movie. It was a lot better than I expected and a good friend of mine is huge into Trek....

I think this episode is part one of the holonovel followed by the second part during the second half. The only break we take from seeing the holonovel be played is when they tell captain Janeway (where she implies that she has to be made to look good) about the first half and when Tom and Tuvok are in the mess hall being hassled...

spoilerBasically the title. That Klingon Pop (K-Pop?) was so unexpected and funny. Such a good comedic timing. But that bit was too short compared to other songs in this episode. I am a little disappointed.

I worked hard at imitating the Leonard Nimoy Spock’s raised eyebrow for quite a while. I don’t regret the time spent practicing that in front of a mirror. I never mastered a fully raised eyebrow, but I can do a slight eyebrow raise....

• “Under the Cloak of War”. The flashbacks in this episode are set during the Federation-Klingon War seen during DIS season one, and a large part of that conflict was the new Klingon cloaking devices that T’Kuvma, and then Kol installed on their various ships. Get it? Yeah, you get it....

• In the episode “No Small Parts” Ransom explains to Captain Freeman that he calls the 2260s the ”TOS Era” in honour of ”Those Old Scientists” like Spock and and Scotty. Of course, this episode takes place in 2259, so clearly it’s time for a shake-up among the SNW production team....

I watch TV while eating, because TV takes my mind off the textures of the food and helps me dissociate from eating. I also have a very active imagination and ability to immerse myself in a show...

Can I just say how fortunate we are that both of the recent actors for Pike did smash-up jobs? I’m talking about Bruce Greenwood in the Kelvin films and of course Anson Mount in SNW. Each brought something different and was a stand out in their respective appearances.

I’m very much looking forward to the musical episode. When Buffy did a musical it was a nice change of pace and a lot of fun. I’m hoping for much the same from SNW’s musical.

I’m not happy with how the episode with the gorn ended. I really really liked Hemmer as a character and his arc was cut short way too early....

So the ending of Prod was basically the same as Pic. It’s a little annoying to basically see the same plot in two shows that aired like a year apart....

Title. I like engaging with Trek content, but i haven’t watched most of the new content and would like to avoid spoilers, which seems difficult especially regarding SNW when subscribed here. Feels like there is half a dozen posts about it every day....
