That comes down to the policies of each individual police department. They're all different.

I think what OC was getting at was how some animal breeds are bred with very limited groups to maintain desired bloodlines/genes. This leads to health issues due to inbreeding.

Pug dogs are a somewhat common example; same with a lot of 'pure bred' dog breeds.

I'm not sure how much that applies to sphinx cats.

With a quick search, this comes up:

    https://faqcats.com/is-breeding-sphynx-cats-cruel/

It can be done ethically, with a sufficient gene pool. It can also be done cruelly; especially when profit is involved. I can't say I have much faith in it being done ethically... But I'm sure there are some alright groups out there.

hairlessness is pretty rare in the animal kingdom

    As justification to why hairlessness is bad;
This line's kinda funny comming from a hairless ape who's species dominates the planet...

“a crazy thing” thanks plumber… Real helpful.

As long as the vertical pipe above it isn’t plugged, you should be fine to just plug that offshoot. It’s part of the vent stack for that drain, which is why it smells like a sewer. Presumably there was something else plumbed in there to drain out at somepoint, but has since been removed.

Perfect. Capping is the better long term solution, but an expansion plug will do the job.

How do some animals (or at least humans) manage to generate more force than their own muscles are rated to handle?

Just as an example, there were evidently reports during the 2007 Glasgow airport attack that someone attempting to subdue the assailant and assist police kicked said attacker in the testicles… but somehow managed to do so hard enough to injure one of their own foot tendons.

Under normal circumstances; you feel feedback from your actions. Kick something, and you’ll immediately, before you’ve finished applying force, feel pain in your foot. That pain causes you to reduce the amount of force you’re applying, both to end the pain and to prevent damage. This is an automatic subconscious reaction.

Add in a shot of a adrenaline though, and that pain feedback is heavily subdued. Your brain doesn’t register the signal to pullback, so you follow through with more force than you otherwise would be able to before self preservation kicks in.

Adrenaline is a hell of a drug.

Pictures of adult faces are really difficult to find… VPNs also don’t exist.

That would put the liability of circumventing laws entirely on the company running the porn site instead of the individuals that visit. It’d get sued into the ground.

Painters often use extension ladders to paint the upper part of tall walls.

Tape a towel over the end of each side rail to prevent them damaging the drywall.

This is known as NAT Hairpinning. When you use your wan IP from within your LAN, your router will route it back to LAN applying your port forwarding rules.

If you were to set a rule forwarding port 80 to something else, you’d get that instead of your pfsense interface (which your router hosts on port 80 but only listens to LAN IPs).

If you really want to, not really necessary though. You’ll still always be able to reach it using the router ip too. The routers interface only responds to LAN traffic and can’t actually be reached from WAN. This is pretty typical of most consumer networks.

I always found it kind of ironic that the tool used to prevent robot traffic, CAPTCHA, is also used as a data source train robots.

I don’t want you getting through this lock, so I’m going to sit you down and meticulously teach you how to get through this lock…

I’ve been liking cloudflare more and more over the years. They’ve been taking some genuinely big steps towards a more free, open, and private internet; them, alongside the Mozilla Foundation. Two big thumbs up :)

I’ve been running pihole for years, but recently put cloudflared behind it to translate all standard DNS traffic to DoH traffic after filtering but before leaving the LAN. Now I just gotta find a good way to implement DoH from client>pihole and devices can start using ECH while still receiving DNS adblock. This will make 100% of the traffic leaving my network encrypted :) (if the client wants it to be at least)
