Just to clarify that this is something that happened often for primaries? That’s new to me, even the primaries for 2020 election it didn’t seem to have that outright pressure and just politicians and people in public eye endorsing one or the other.

The talk of even if you don’t like then vote for them cuz other is worse I only heard really leading up to presidential election.

For what it is worth though I do not watch the news or talking heads and never have, I always prefer reading articles, so maybe I’m just out of the loop on that part of our culture.

I agree a lot except that anything is inevitable.

For example I see drastically different discussions happening on a much larger scale than ever before, with a lot of new ideas gaining more momentum and becoming a common enough public opinion.

I also have a ton of hope for gen z. They seem the generation with the most educated and socially aware youth. Once they are voting and running I’m really hopeful that’s when progress will start making quicker headway. It’s just survival, treading water until we get there. Maybe I’m naive, I need that hope though.

Republicans Are Wrong on Abortion—and They Know It ( www.thenation.com )

A recent USA Today/Suffolk University poll found that 80 percent of voters oppose a federal abortion ban, including 65 percent of Republicans. And what’s more, their base knows that’s exactly what their party is trying to do. Another poll from Navigator found that a majority of voters also “believe it is likely that...

THIS SHOULD BE A HORROR MOVIE THOUGH!!! Especially since the trend right now in horror is to be some sort of allegory to current social/political/etc climate!

(And yeah sorry I did skim your profile to confirm my impression you’re a normal reasonable person in case you do message me lol)

Remember when trump took four hours to go on TV and tell his people to go home, that he loves them. And later referred to them as great patriots?

Meanwhile during those 4 hours refusing to release the national gaurd, even though he had other senators ask him to. He tweeted and watched the news. Remember also that the police were short staffed that day and the precautions that should have been put in place were denied.

Within 30 minutes of Trump’s speech ending the capitol was declared a riot.

So I guess if you want to be really technical and say he didn’t cause this because he never explicitly ordered it (except remember during the debates where he said “proud boys to stand back and stand by”) … but he definitely dragged his feet trying to prevent or stop it and then did a half assed job. It would be hard to convince me he wasn’t at least glad this happened.

Did you happen to watch the televised portion of it? It was honestly amazing. It was like a legal case that went into detail from all different aspects of that day and what trump did that day and leading up to it. They explained everything that happened on the capitol at any given time and where, how close some statesmen got to the mob, how the mob spread out and what they were doing. It matters because they put in the work to investigate and put the time-line all together. It painted the full picture and it was straight facts.

Discrediting them is just discrediting the facts. That’s why it matters.

Oh shit it almost looks like she threw it away BECAUSE they said “we hope you take action on gun violence protection”

I don’t necessarily think that’s what happened because she was sort of headed towards the trash cans anyway. Regardless it is disgusting and really speaks volumes that she doesn’t care, for Republican politicians there is no press bad enough. She is just that heartless.
