I'm honestly surprised China has a minimum wage.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

$340m is absolutely nothing when you consider that the corporations are pulling in hundreds of billions yearly.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

These fuckers have never read a word of the new testament. They're literally the antithesis of everything Jesus stood for.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

Black bears are almost exclusively giant fraidy cats. The only times they'll attack humans are if they're literally starving, are cornered/injured, or are used to humans feeding them.

They won't even attack to protect young. They'll just tree them and run off.

I'm an avid outdoors man, and every single interaction I've had with them was them hauling ass in the other direction when they noticed me.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

If they're startled they'll run away, unless cornered. Also, I covered the cubs part.

Although you shouldn't fuck with cubs because it's a dick move.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

From what I've heard they're basically like a dog with opposable thumbs, which sounds like an awful pet.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

It’s more like, “We agree that he should be disqualified, but we’re afraid of what his cult will do to us if we rule that way.”

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

They do when they’re personally affected by it.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

Just one caveat - if you double production, you’re not doubling your income or profit.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

No, you never will without increasing prices to cover the additional overhead of increased production.

Remember, only the machine is doubling efficiency, but operations has to increase to handle the new output and resources required.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

The labor costs aren’t going away, just shifting. You have to increase employment in other areas to handle a 100% increase in product output.

Besides the fact that labor costs are rarely a large enough portion of a manufacturer’s budget to make that big of a difference.

I’m using MikroTik for my networking, and I love it so far. No switch yet, because I haven’t completely talked myself into the full SFP switch yet, but It’ll happen some day

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

That is one good thing that WFH did. I know several people who moved from LA to our middle of nowhere town where a nice 3br house is under $150k.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

Yup, they’re actually installing FTTC in my neighborhood now.

The only drawback is that it’s rural Texas.

But, if enough liberals move here for affordable housing…

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

2am-11am (idk what shift that is) is even worse. I drove to work without a seat belt hoping a drunk driver would hit me.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

That’s how my job is. No one cares what hours I work as long as I show up to meetings and answer outage phone calls.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

Or getting a sleep study done.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

Oh, duh. My brain was stuck on 1st, 2nd, etc.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

The use case is that I want beefy server hardware just because.

Unclassified letter reveals NSA's warrantless purchase of Americans' internet browsing data ( www.techspot.com )

My data is already bought and sold by companies. But when government agencies do it, suddenly we only need to stop them. Stop this madness. It shouldn’t matter if it’s corporations or a government, why not stop the sale of people’s data?

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

As if the NSA isn’t running an army of exit nodes.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

Does the NSA need a warrant to purchase information that’s being legally gathered and sold?

While it’s extremely immoral and unethical, I’m not sure about unconstitutional.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

It absolutely is

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

Maybe you should work on your chill, buddy, because I was asking a question. I don’t know if the SC has ever ruled on whether the government is allowed to purchase commercially available information without a warrant.

I made no argument in favor of the practice. In fact, I went out of my way to state that I disagreed with the practice.

But you’re well aware of that, aren’t you?

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

I’m sorry about your reading comprehension, buddy. It must be hard going through life with a learning disability.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

Either a troll or a learning disability.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

The Texas government actually hates Texans, but more specifically Texan women.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

Lol, it’s a hippo; they kill for fun.

Letting/not letting a baby do that will in no way impact it’s behavior as an adult.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

The Hyundai Santa Cruz and Ford Maverick would like a word with you.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

To be fair, there’s a lot more safety equipment in cars now than there was in 91

Hell, a civic weighs 3000lb.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

No, I went with the Santa Cruz instead.

Maine state official who removed Trump from ballot was targeted in swatting call at her home ( abcnews.go.com )

A fake emergency call to police resulted in officers responding Friday night to the home of Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows just a day after she removed former President Donald Trump from the state’s presidential primary ballot under the Constitution’s insurrection clause....

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

Honestly, swatting people should be an aggregated assault charge, maybe attack with a deadly weapon.

pearsaltchocolatebar ,

This isn’t really news. Some dude filed a complaint and they denied it because he didn’t fill it out right. Pretty standard bureaucracy.
