Trump floated eliminating the federal income tax and replacing it with tariffs on imports.

This would lead to huge price hikes, which would hurt everyone but the wealthy.

Think the cost of living is high now? Just wait and see what happens if Trump gets another term.

@rbreich he doesn't care that has no clue how any of this stuff works. An effing lunatic. We will have an economy like Argentina or Nigeria with even more corrupt politicians.

There is one thing — and one thing only — that Trump wants from his vice president: Absolute loyalty.

If they won’t serve Trump’s will over all else, they’re immediately disqualified.

This is how things work in a dictatorial regime.

@rbreich why bother with a vice president that isn't Don Jr?

Trump had been involved in 4,000+ lawsuits before he ever rode down that escalator in 2015. He's not in legal trouble because he's running for president. He's running for president to escape his legal trouble.

Billionaires aren’t just supporting Trump for the tax cuts.

As Peter Thiel once admitted: “I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible.”

Make no mistake: The goal of American oligarchy is to tear down democracy itself.

@georgetakei vulture capitalism is the soup dujour. The owner group sold the land under the restaurants to a company they also owned. Then charged high rent to the restaurants. The company that supplied the shrimp was also owned by the same group that owned the restaurants. The "all you can eat shrimp" stripped the last of the cash from red lobster.

Reminder that Trump is floating cuts to Social Security and Medicare — supposedly to address the debt — yet supports extending his tax cuts for the rich, adding $4.6 trillion to the deficit.

This isn't about the debt.

It’s about doing the bidding of his wealthy donors.
