interesting that you think anywhere is safe if the US actually collapses.

why don't fur boots come with jelly beans?

but you also need to exchange the air inside often, so you need ventilation too.

i’m surprised that there aren’t more cosplay entertainment dining experiences. i’d love to dip my toes into some cultural microcosm with enthusiastic guides for a few hours. wheres the 1980s philadelphia breakdancing and graffiti street party bbq cookout restaurant? wheres the 1960s sci fi syd mead scene with analog electronic music and fluorescent flooring with french organic furniture?

situational awareness. humans instinctually need to feel safe. sleeping with your head right by the door gives you the least amount of reaction time/space to stave off invasion. inagine a rabbit sleeping with its nose out of a rabbit hole. in modern times with modern locks and security, its not a big consideration to be faie. but the instinct is there. people like headboards on beds for the same cavelike feelibg of protection. so yea head away from the door, bed not by the door. windows used to be avoided for being drafty or leaking light.

Old Wallpaper Matching? ( iusearchlinux.fyi )

We’re getting our house repainted, so I took down one of the hideous lamps in the bathroom to uncover this. It was certainly a choice, but I think this may have been original to the house (ca 1940). While it’s a bit much, we’re trying to be authentic to the original vision of the house. Does anyone know if it’s possible...

maybe let adobe try using AI to autocomplete it?

i want a dog sized one as a domestic robot, and various tools can come from the torso bag as needed.

Hypothetically speaking, what alterations to our biology/genome would need to occur in order for us to be able to safely drink saltwater?

Could we, in theory, use something like CRISPR to give a new baby replacement super-kidneys (or whatever organ it is that makes drinking saltwater be a bad time)? It seems like if we cracked that, we’d be set as a species....

hmm how about making a seaweed that grows meat tumors then.

well it helps the book value as an asset but it hurts the available cash and the liquidity of assets and the return on assets although the depreciation is a big write off. its not a great use for most companies to sit on brick and mortar that aren’t generating revenue. but whats the point of having a high floor corner office if nobody is around to pretend to care?

Num10ck ,

the major banks publicly having major concerns about their portfolio of commercial mortgage backed securities says you’re wrong right now. its too soon to call this one. hundreds of billions are on the line, and so are the work/life balances of a rising generation of workers who don’t believe what the baby boomers did.

Num10ck ,

what video format are you using? looks great loads fast and is scrubbable

Num10ck ,

i guess if you had some super crazy distant probe observing the black home and it’s memory bits were quantum entangled with a receiver device near us, we might know instantly-ish? but would need to wait millions of years for that probe to be placed to begin with and hope the systems don’t corrode or corrupt or fail in those millions of years. and what would you do with the info? tell everyone?

Land acquisition question - Two Car Garage

I’ve recently come into a situation where my neighbor is willing to sell me a .17acre lot that runs behind my house. It spams about 3 properties on the south border, one on the north and one on the west. I talked to the town and they would let me absorb this land into my current property. I want to build a two car garage that...

if you can relatively afford it and the extra space would add a lot to your life then go for it. if its a hardship to pay for it and/or the extra space is just extra then don’t. loans are likely hard to come by for undeveloped land in normal years and able to be almost impossible soon.

Num10ck ,

maybe buy the land cash for now, and wait on the improvements while saving up and planning

Num10ck ,

the problem with HELOC is your house is collateral… if you cant make the payments you lose your house.

maybe figure out how to build the structures using the pines. maybe figure out how to make money with the space.

depends on where you are and whats lacking. maybe it can be a home-based business site, or an accessory dwelling unit, or a mini-warehouse for ecommerce, or a recording studio, or a wasabi farm, or breeding domesticated foxes. is this an expense or an investment?

after the Truman show, its the False man show

monoprice.com is a good source for inexpensive high quality tv wall mount brackets. you’ll also end up wanting to hide the cords in the wall soon enough.

never had a good experience dealing with Chase, I guess leadership feels the same for the employees?
