I feel like there aren't enough heads turned on investors who could care about employees even less than companies do.

They even have more bargaining power than any employee or protester to make the company do what they want.

AnonTwo ,

I mean if he catches wind their products stop working to the point consumers react, he can just sell his stock and move on to destroy another company.

should the US consider a currency redenomination?

Prices of things are becoming absolutely insane. $800+ rent, $30,000 cars, $10 sub sandwiches, etc. It would be nice to do a 3/1 split and cut everything by 2/3. Then we would have $266 rent, $10,000 cars, and $3.33 sub sandwiches. Wages, debts, everything would drop to 1/3 what they are now. It would also make coins useful...

Does anybody like decimals? Even if you add more worth it's more math.

AnonTwo ,

You don’t have to “spend” all your money

.

Spending your whole paycheck is very bad at any income level, but it turns out when you’re poor you don’t get a choice.

They'll wipe their tears with the help of Benjamin Franklin

Child poverty in the United States just more than doubled. You can thank Joe Manchin. ( www.motherjones.com )

The United States’ poverty rate experienced its largest one-year jump on record last year, with the rate among children more than doubling from 2021’s historic low of 5.2 percent to 12.4 percent according to new numbers from the US Census Bureau out today. They’re the latest data to reflect the devastating effects...

...?

The article is about Joe Manchin. It argues nothing about Joe Biden.

AnonTwo ,

You sound like you want a Mafia family, not a government....

AnonTwo ,

Because authoritarian governments aren't known for poverty 👍

I guess at least when you complain about it, you can just die instead of having to live with it.

AnonTwo ,

I think they're supposed to argue against their democratic/republican nominations in their states or something for future elections, but I honestly could be wrong because It's not something I often think about. Just that there has to be some sort of repercussion for consistently voting against your party....

AnonTwo ,

I took my 3rd option 7 years ago. I'm not really feeling it again until the trump and court situations are dealt with.

AnonTwo ,

You can hold your principles high above everyone else as the person you hate the most wins. Least you didn't vote for him, right?

AnonTwo ,

That reply...is incredibly weird, not gonna lie.

Like it almost sounds like you're just trying to use buzzwords to make Democrats vote in a way that will help Trump get into office from inaction.

AnonTwo ,

Ok, so trump is worse. Good to see we acknowledge that.

But if we were to assume for a moment that the other choice could literally be trump in the upcoming election, then nows not the freaken time for this shit.

Nows not the time to "bite the bullet" when it's going to be the literal reason we aren't biting the bullet.

AnonTwo ,

I think everyone pretty much knows why it hasn't happened yet.

Make sure to vote in this upcoming election.

In Tuesday's special election, Ohioans overwhelmingly vote against requiring a supermajority to change their state constitution ( www.cbsnews.com )

Voters in Ohio went to the polls to decide whether to approve a measure known as Issue 1 that would raise the bar for constitutional amendments on the ballot. In the ultimate irony, the votes against changing the amendment process exceeded the 60% supermajority that the measure was seeking in the first place

AnonTwo ,

The problem is the stipulation was added very deliberately before an abortion rights issue. It was an attempt to kill a more important issue.

Even if you feel it should require a stronger majority the issue was not put out with the hope of making things "more democratic".

And yes, the results show they could actually have succeeded even on a supermajority, but neither party knew that at the time.

AnonTwo ,

At the time of that post, people said it was at 60-70.

AnonTwo ,

He did everything within his power to do, so if you feel he did "fuck all", then look to all the other branches that got it shut down.

Vote in more people who have your interests, don't blame the person who tried to do something.

AnonTwo ,

Well wtf are you going to get out of getting mad at someone who very clearly got shut down trying to do something?

AnonTwo ,

Cool stuff

Ron DeSantis is a fascist.

You might want to reevaluate your own education if you think "playing into a fantasy" makes any logical sense for how people treat each other...it's not a game.

Or, maybe you should consider that if what you're saying is true, why isn't there education on that, rather than the restriction of education on something that was approved elsewhere?

Or even how this entire "facade" can be held up all around social life, if in your eyes most of it is in regards to public bathrooms.

It honestly just sounds like you're poorly educated on the subject.

edit: Based on the fact most of what you're saying further down is just political talking points, and not anything based on something you yourself could've come up with...I think poorly educated is pretty right on the dot....

The upvote doesn't represent an upvote on Kbin, so if you get a normal flow of upvotes/downvotes and no boosts, you'll have a negative reputation.

reputation doesn't actually do anything, of course, but it is there.
