I think it matches with the prequel aspect before Starfleet was really a thing, and it matches up beautifully with the montage of Big E’s evolution. DS9 has the best instrumental but ENT’s intro is great.
My grandpa was a reactor monkey on the CVN Enterprise and the primary reason I’m such a huge sci-fi nerd, every time I see Big E in the intro it makes me think of him and hopeful we’ll see NCC-1701 someday.
You’ve described precisely how I feel about Disco, Trek is supposed to be about the whole team solving problems but somehow in any century…the destiny of the universe is all about her. Remove deus ex Burnham from the show and it could be so much better. Saru, Stamets and all are great, they’re just background to the Michael story.
I’m in camp Janeway did nothing wrong, but some things like the doctor in SNW keeping his daughter in the buffer raise questions about just exactly what is being stored and rematerialized. Maybe there was a way to use transporter magic to solve the trolley problem, but the needs of the many and two crew members were already MIA
Considering a large portion of Walmart workers receive food stamps and other benefits due to low income, it would be a huge boost for those folks and lessen demand for assistance on local govts…but nah let’s keep all the money to pay for our drunk driving murder nights.

Back in the 90s, I remember watching episodes of Voyager and TNG on our little black-and-white TV and then watched the TOS movies 15 or so years ago. This past summer, I’ve started watching all the series and movies straight through. So far I have watched through all TOS, TAS, and am up through The Final Frontier (I know,...
The first couple episodes Rom is a real dick pushing the shit downhill onto Nog but once he goes from basic greedy goblin to engineer savant the dynamic is great
Quark is also a great foil to the stiff backed Federation ideals that Sisko is always preaching. It’s nice to see life on the station outside of the rules of Starfleet, and the Ferengi episodes became some of my favorites cause it’s heartwarming in a way to see them try so hard, especially Nog. Toss up between Quarks and Ten Forward
HAPPY STAR TREK DAY!!! I started watching Star Trek last year and I started with TOS, my Star Trek watching has slowed down a bit but I love this franchise and can’t wait to finish TNG! TNG, like all Trek shows, takes a little while to find its footing. They were trying to follow the original cast and it took some time, after Riker grows his beard everything gets better and it’s endlessly rewatchable. Currently doing that now in fact before going back to DS9 as the crew of the Enterprise gives way to a whole new set of great characters 🖖
