This is what it’s like to watch Detective Conan in America. They will even have commercial segways where they say “hey, remember this important clue!” And then not even use that clue in the English dub’s edit. They still present it as a mystery the viewer can solve, but then the solution is always some convoluted BS using clues the audience was never shown lol

There wasn’t a lot of Trek games in my childhood. I mean, they existed I just didn’t have any. I remember playing something on DOS my dad had in his floppy collection but I don’t know what the actual title is. Could probably identify it by a screenshot because it was like a screen with space/an enemy ship and then a bunch of menus to do everything like an old school CRPG.

Even now I kinda wish there was a Star Trek immersive sim/open world RPG besides the MMO, STO. Like Mass Effect or Starfield but Star Trek, and not boring.

Tim Russ and Robert Picardo are in Fallout 4.

Picardo does a fine job as the Institute scientist who is in charge of synth production; seemed very much like the EMH’s role and he seemed to play it that way.

Russ, though… He’s a Brotherhood of Steel guy on the Prydwyn and just seems like a more stern version of Tuvok. Not because the role called for it, but because he was just reading lines without any passion behind them. Or wasn’t given proper direction (which given some things other VAs who worked on that have said is probably closer to the truth).

Patrick Stewart has also lent his voice to a Bethesda game as Uriel Septim in Oblivion.

I’ve never had the mechanical parts actually break on my HDDs. It’s the platter itself that gets fucked. And if I had another, good drive laying around… why would I want to swap the platters when I could just throw in the entire drive?

If the drive you want to put the platter in has a faster RPM… would it even work? Like would the data on the platter you’re putting in even read properly having been written by a slower spinning drive? 🤔

Dick Tracy’s communicator watch actually seems pretty shitty by today’s standards. His didn’t have a high def LCD screen in it.

Star Trek’s PADD also seems obsolete by real world standards. Those were just e-readers. A tablet is an entire computer, and a smartphone is an even smaller, pocket size computer. There are even phones and devices that connect to phones that do tricorder like scanning of vital signs, the atmosphere, even analyzing the elements that make up an object through spectrographic analysis. Meaning we have the ability to combine the ship computer, a PADD and a tricorder into one device.

Ton of the people blocked are in trucks and off-road vehicles in a desert. Go around the dipshits? Surely your trucks can handle being off road for 10 feet.

$15/hour minimum wage in California. $31,200/year before taxes if working 40 hours a week. I haven’t seen anything I could feasibly get hired for that pays more than $18/hour ($37,440/year).

I seriously have zero motivation to work 40 hours a week and still be fucking homeless.

The tech sector can’t find workers fast enough. Manufacturing is endlessly looking for workers.

I do network engineering and also have worked in manufacturing (mostly driving forklifts). Those things are indeed hiring; but they only want to pay $18/hour. How hard of a concept that is to understand?

But if you wanna pay my tuition, I’d be happy to get a degree in something instead of just being Cisco and A+ certified and just going by years of experience doing the work.

Heh… Nobody working on Friday has been a joke since I was a kid. Turns out, it’s not a joke!

Of course, the reason why nobody works on Friday always seemed to be anticipation of the weekend, so I would imagine going to a 4 day work week, eventually, would lead to the same thing. Except it’ll be Thursday. 🤔
