Private Equity Firm Bought My Employer
It was majority employee-owned before the acquisition but is now majority owned by private equity firm. The main change I'm noticing is that everyone is being pressured to work uncompensated overtime (we're all on salary here) and requests for training/professional development have been all but eliminated. They also initially...
If two identical radios are side by side and tuned to the same frequency, will they both pick up the signal at 100%, or will they wrestle for the same radio waves?
We shouldn't have to work 40 hours a week to afford a basic life. We do because our currency is constantly losing value. This is by design.
There's a lot of talk about inflation and its causes. Is it corporate greed? Supply chain issues? One clear base cause of inflation less talked about is having an inflationary currency supply. Any other inflation caused by supply chain issues, corporate greed, lack of market competition, etc is just added on top of that. Fiat...

Regarding sleep quality, why did humans evolve to require full darkness?

I mean normally, outside, you never have pure darkness, there are the moon and stars even at night. In certain zones of the Earth we also have long periods of no sunshine and long periods of only sunshine....

Was it a good thing that SNW explicitly said the Federation is socialist?
In case you don't know, they explicitly use the term socialist to describe the Federation economy in SNW. I was wondering if ppl liked or hated it? I like it personally since it's not a dodge like "new world economy"

How dense would the atmosphere need to be to result in a cataclysmic chain reaction during a nuclear explosion?
Famously, Oppenheimer and co worked out how close a nuclear bomb test would be to causing a chain reaction of nitrogen fusion in the atmosphere. They made a lot of worst-case-scenario assumptions and still came to the conclusion that no, a nuclear bomb test wouldn’t scour the surface of the world....

[OC] Just getting into photography
A few days ago, I got myself a Canon EOS 700D DSLR camera along with a Canon EFS 18-55mm lens for about $160. Until now, I've only ever used point-and-shoots, like my smartphone or my "Kodak" Pixpro AZ401....
Are there other human traits like light skin which people developed to adapt to the "new" environment they settled in?
I'm referring to the human race evolving in the African continent and then migrating to the rest of the world....
