If you mean by laying it on its side, I did it because the case has punch out side panels. They're both plexi glass too, so I assume it would shatter under the weight of this pc. (~40kg)
Can you post more pics? It's hard to make out the shape of the computer and space available. I'm interested to see how this is the more space efficient way.
The 3rd party apps are closing at the end of this month, which means there'll be somewhere around a week or so of people realising just how bad the official app is, plus decreased quality content as the actually-motivated people who post things continue their gradual migration away from reddit and driving redditors to seek other places to gather.
A lonely guy playing a creepy hentai game gets some sexual gratification from his time spent interacting with a piece of software and is at least somewhat self-aware. He knows it's just software, even if he 'married' his bodypillow.
Meanwhile there are increasing numbers of people unaware they're regularly interacting with bots online, not realising one of the reasons social media is making them sadder is because they've atttempting to fulfill their need for social interaction with a facsimile thereof.
It's not unlike Idiocracy, where they give the plants Brawndo instead of water, then wonder why the plants are dying. Vast swathes of the world are feeding their social needs with social media brawndo.
Also you’re blaming the medium, rather than the malicious actors.
If AI text generative technology was around a century earlier you’d have people being penpals or print newspaper write-ins with a bot instead. Communicating through text is inherently risky, so best to blame the people who abuse that fact instead.
Yup. I’m Anarch157a everywhere (except Mastodon, for reasons), Steam, Lemmy, Discord, etc. Having my old - now deleted - Reddit account as a bot could spill over my identity in other services.
I'm just going to venture a guess now that at the completion of this event, they're not going to have the usual video progression montage that they have done in years past. There would be far too many hard cuts for it to be as sterile as they'd like while still showing the progress through the event.
I believe you! There are lots of little issues - it’s a young platform. If it’s any consolation, “Reddit for Lemmy” makes me giggle everytime I see it.
@Technological_Elite I don't understand what "Reddit for Lemmy" means. Is this some sort of application to convert Reddit posts to Lemmy or access through Lemmy?
Hey, just make it intentional by calling it a joke. Reddit is nothing without its 3rd party apps, and Boost was one of them. It's basically Reddit for Lemmy.
So excited! I’m running the Sync for Lemmy beta right now and it’s amazing. It should also have its Google play preload launching any day now with beta release following shortly thereafter.
Edit: sorry, I wasn’t trying to hype sync over boost here. I was just saying having boost and sync coming soon together is really exciting!
He dropped a 100 invite private beta yesterday in his discord to get a small team of bug squashers together so he can take it the last mile before release. I just got lucky and was hanging out at the right time. He has a preregistration pending with google (they have to approve it) that he hopes will become available earliest tomorrow. This will allow you to preregister like you can for boost. Then he is hoping by end of week to launch the public beta. He just finished up implementing search (which will come to us in tomorrow’s update), and is halfway done implementing messaging. Then there’s a high priority comment sorting issue. I think those are the last 3 major bugs he wants worked out before the public beta.
The app is smooth as hell. It’s already on Beta 12 as of today with beta 13 coming tomorrow when he wakes up and compiles it. It’s not perfect featurewise (yet) but boy does it feel like I’m just using reddit. He has a GitHub issue tracker as well so you can see what isn’t working atm if you want.
Tldr: it’s not quite ready yet. I still use Jerboa for posting and the web UI for messages and mod tools at the moment, but at his current pace, I don’t think I’ll be needing multiple for much longer
If I'm Spez, aren't I just laughing at all the people who are still using my platform to do this? They are still getting ad revenue from all those page visits right?
