As much as most of us have long had any remaining interest in a fourth Kelvin movie long exhausted by the endless repetition of hype and failure, there does seem to be more confirmation of significant creative differences on the script that was in development in 2022....
I feel kinda bad about feeding google with data. Is there some name server I can point my servers to that upholds my privacy and does not run analytics on the requests it gets?
This is mostly hearsay (supported by things the WGA said, so I trust it), but not all members of the AMPTP were happy with the strike going this long and wanted to negotiate a lot sooner.
Earlier this month there was talk of some members leaving so they could negotiate new contracts independently. This might have lit a fire under the ass of the holdouts, since the AMPTP losing someone big like Disney would significantly weaken their own negotiating power.
I don’t know who greenlit this supposed celebration of TAS, but the writing is cheap, lowbrow and cringey. It’s a total shame that the amazing animation and sound design are paired with this quality of writing. None of the three eps released so far impressed me....
i don’t think these are meant to have “Trek messages”, if anything the point is to lampoon them by taking various Trek tropes to comical extremes (Spock misunderstanding human emotions, cultural acceptance, etc.)
for ~3 minute shorts on YouTube, i think that is fine even if it is not everyone’s cup of tea.
SAG and WGA want people to watch the new content. Their members still make money from it during the strikes, and continued demand is further evidence that their work is worth the money.
I saw someone on Reddit wondering why the community was so sure of Trek going dark again with Paramount not doing so well financially. Seeing the response was unfortunate as most people feel that it might be a bad time for Trek. And I guess it makes sense with the Hollywood strikes as well....
