Not really, but I had already habituated myself to nuking accounts and deleting posts routinely long before now. I regret Reddit became what it is, not disconnecting from that.
I didn't delete my account but did delete RIF once it stopped working. I was mostly a lurker on reddit and the few comments and posts i did make are of little to no value to the platform.
I figured wasting a few MB of space on a harddrive would be a more effective protest than doing them a favor and deleting my admittedly worthless content.
Yep it works. How come this never came up in my hours for searching around?
If we want the fediverse to be a thing we need it to be accessible. I have a Masters Degree in Information Technology and I couldn’t help myself to do simple things.
For ST, the Voyager looked good, but I didn’t like the moving nacelles. The updated Enterprise from the first movie was my favorite iteration of the Big-E.
But, my favorite ship is the Omega class destroyer from Babylon 5. (sue me)
What did they just imagine cash transactions happening on starships even when they said many times in every franchise that they have evolved past the need for money?
Theres been several times in TOS where people referred to Federation Credits or when Scotty said he “brought a boat”. I think most of us were under the impression that it didn’t go full post scarcity socialist until the replicators were invented.
Basically what everyone suggested. Reduce the reflectivity of your windows since birds see it as sky or trees. Different window treatments have different efficacy. Gotta shop around for what fits your budget and what is effective for your window.
You could switch from the Vinyl to a combination of blackout blinds and black out curtains. At least these can be opened in the day time which is when you'll get the majority of your problem presumably? Blackout blinds are also not usually black on the outer surface; they're better white to help reflect light so wouldn't look like a cave?
I’ve played the game through about three times now, and here’s the two major things that get me through it:
Modularity. I built a lot of things in standard 10x10 blocks I could quickly spam out with the SMART mod, and using that as a basic building block I would build production lines and whole factories. 4 modules of smelters, 4 modules of constructors, 2 modules of assemblers and 2 modules of manufacturers and you’ve gone from raw ore to computers or something. This approach is extensible, you can quickly bang out a production line, get some of it going, then widen it in parallel to increase throughput as demand increases.
Step by step. When I stop to think about how my whole world-circling megafactory works, it’s kind of overwhelming. I don’t think I could have sat down and designed it from the top down. But “This factory mines iron and copper on site, gets plastic from the train network, makes circuit boards and computers, and then sends them out the train network” is easier to manage. As you build a step in the process, stop considering the rest of the world, think “this will get ingredients from somewhere and will sent products to somewhere else.”
It closes whole windows. You can try it safely by opening a second Firefox whole window, open a few tabs on it, and then Alt-F, D and the entire window closes. (Your first Firefox window is unaffected.)
