So they basically are getting the CEO job without getting compensated properly since they are “just” PA level. Fantastic.

Pretty much every PA

phorq , in Be an underpaid babysitter for a rich fuck!

This is listed as “remote”? How would this even remotely be accomplished if not in person? That CEO is gonna be under CPS soon.

mosiacmango ,

Remote is the “hottest” section of job sites, so stupid companies will list every job under “remote” on the off chance that someone looking for remote work will accept non remote work.

The shittier ones will even tell you its remote up until the interviews, when it will suddenly be “hybrid” remote, i.e not remote.

Fuck this noise. I will use whatever I’m allowed to my advantage. Work trips are like mini vacations I don’t have to pay for.

SatansMaggotyCumFart ,

I expense my cocaine and hookers.

billwashere ,

I work for the state so I haven’t figured this part out yet. I’m open to suggestions 😀

SatansMaggotyCumFart ,

What state?

Some are more open to it then others.

I got a $45 food stipend for lunch once. My lunch cost $30 (it was lunch AND dinner) and then tipped the restaurant $15.

I’m using 100% of it.

Then they should order delivery or something. Food poisoning is not the answer.

Yeah, dealing with the delivery guy might be unpleasant, but paramedics and the hospital staff will be MUCH worse.

EnderofGames ,

Food poisoning would be the crippling part.

When the company gets billed for replacing the coffee maker every time you stay at a hotel they will do something other than promote.

Super double promote?

Exactly.

I don’t get to travel for work but schedule my biweekly telehealth therapy appointments for midday.

Where do you find $30 meals? Mine are all $60+

I gotta submit my expensing for review, so I gotta keep it somewhat realistic or they’ll deny.

I saw a YouTube video of a guy cooking a steak by wrapping it in aluminum foil and putting the hotel iron on top. But an iron gets a lot hotter than that warming plate, plus beef is less bad to eat undercooked.

ryathal ,

This would probably work fine, it might be a bit slow, but a coffee pot gets plenty hot to cook chicken. My main concern would be the lack of fluid increases the chances that pot breaks.

ilovededyoupiggy ,
@ilovededyoupiggy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Sous vide then?

ryathal ,

More like poached or simmered.

Kowowow ,

through in a bit of cream cheese and you could have something not bad

schnokobaer ,

The hot plate 100% has a safety switch that turns it off at a couple degrees above boiling. So it won’t break but it also won’t sufficiently cook the chicken with pieces this large…

magnetosphere ,
@magnetosphere@kbin.social avatar

That’s what freaked me out the most - how thick the cut is.

This isn’t beef. You can’t cook chicken medium rare and expect things to be okay.

Sinnerman ,

"Chunky" chicken soup in a can just costs a couple dollars, you could try heating that in a coffee pot. Add some fresh cherry tomatoes and canned fruit and you have a good meal.

PR3CiSiON ,

I’ve made grilled cheese like this before. Works decently.

crmsnbleyd OP , in Why did she have to drag oat milk into this 😭
@crmsnbleyd@sopuli.xyz avatar

Maybe this isn’t that much of a lunatic but I’m white knighting non-dairy milk, okay?

alnilam ,

Non dairy milk is great. But he’s right when oat milk costs 5x or 10x the price of regular milk while having mostly cheap ingredients is a scam.

tycho ,

I agree, oat milk should not be this expensive it’s mainly water! Milk is also both heavily subsidized by the state so the price drops and the producer don’t make a lot of margins on it.

crmsnbleyd OP ,
@crmsnbleyd@sopuli.xyz avatar

That’s so true, making it yourself if you can is the best

adriaan ,

How much do you pay for oat milk? It’s like €1.40/L here which is only like 50% more than dairy milk.

Who lives in something like this other than royalty? I honestly don’t understand the point of it….you’d never see 90% of it.

merc ,

If money weren’t an issue, I could understand it. You could invite friends and/or family to come over and stay as long as they’d like. If you wanted some time to yourself, they wouldn’t even have to leave, they could just stay in one of the guest-houses for a while.

You could have any kind of special hobby room you wanted. Martial arts dojo? Sure. Home theater? Sure. Laser tag room? Sure. Dance studio? Why not? Kitchen with every kind of tool, multiple ovens, multiple stoves? Of course! Workshop? Why not. Cozy knitting room with every kind of yarn imaginable? Great!

Some kind of good cause you wanted to support? Give them an entire wing of the place. Feel bad for a marginalized group like refugees? Hand over one of the many buildings for their use.

Overall, the world would probably be a better place if no person / family had this much wealth. But, that doesn’t mean that I’d hate to have a place like that if I happened to be insanely wealthy.

PrincessLeiasCat ,

Great answer, thanks! A lot of things I hadn’t thought about. Maybe we should all go in with this guy, lol

Yeah, working on yourself makes you resilient, but it definitely doesn’t make you unstoppable. Like Picard said, “It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose.”

BeneGesseritWitch , in Kind of cringe?
@BeneGesseritWitch@sh.itjust.works avatar

I’m of two minds; in context these are great. Like the last one (the shining one) I’ve seen pop up in both autism groups and surviving narcissistic parents groups, and it makes sense there. Both of those groups of people have had people in their lives try to diminish them, and make them fit into other peoples needs and expectations. And a friend of mine in recovery posted that exact ‘place you wanted to be’ one. So in the right setting these work. But sharing them on linkedin erases the context and makes these seem more like the toxic positivity slogans you see the fitness gurus flood you with. So I think the real cringe lies with the original poster (not you, lemmy poster, you’re good 👍)
