The GOP fuck who voted nine times got probation. But all those eight extra votes were votes he thought were legitimate, so it’s fine.

some_guy ,

That changed under Thatcher

Reagan and Thatcher engineered the hell we live in (in these two countries, anyway).

That honestly made me stop. I don’t like blonds, but I stopped.

Depends on the theft. I won’t rat out someone stealing food or baby formula. But I would for sure rat out those group-assaults on premium brands. They smash and break shit unnecessarily and leave chaos for the workers when they’re gone.

“With Hispanic migrants, although it is hard, although it is heavy, they endure,” said Vicente. Between the church and the plant, he said, he gets three hours of sleep a night.

    That’s not sustainable.

A lot of people are incapable of logical thought and reason. Or capable but choose not to use it. Whether because they believe the bullshit that is sold to them via politics and media or other foolishness.

I couldn’t grow proper facial hair (I’m a guy) and read that using Rogaine (the stuff for balding guys) on the face could stimulate hair follicles. It worked; I now have a beard after using the product for only a handful of months (I don’t think balding guys get to stop using it). May Toegaine would have a similar result?

I got a mini pc and ran pfSense back in the day. I’ve been using pfSense ever since, though I’m now on their hardware (which costs more than your stated budget).

I agree with folks recommending Ubiquiti, but I’m also barely literate in the aspects of the market that matter. I just recognize the brand as trusted and we used their devices at a job I had.

For some reason, I have a negative view of Mikrotik - as though I’ve read something damning in a security-related article about them - but I can’t back that up. If I did, it was only once.

Stay away from TP-LINK. I had one of their devices and it was garbage.

You can buy a cool tshirt to help support the unionization effort here. I got the rainbow one cause hell yeah.

    some_guy ,

A TJ’s in my area unionized last year. I went there and congratulated as many staff as I could find. You could tell which way they voted by their response to my good tidings. Most seemed to really appreciate the support.

Moonstone Bistro owners, Che and Tanya Stedman

When asked whether they felt it was disrespectful to those who work minimum wage jobs to downplay their importance, the Stedmans were direct.

“Tanya and I are the reason why this business exists, not the opposite,” Che told KRCR’s Sam Chimenti on Wednesday. “If we stopped working, these jobs disappear. Don’t make it sound like we’re terrible because we’re undervaluing people’s work. I think it’s time for us to understand that our work is being undervalued, and that we’re being told that we are terrible people because we are not giving enough.”

The Audit podcast did some digging into PragerU earlier this year. Disturbing stuff. I had to stop listening, but it was interesting to learn about the unhinged shit being produced by these freaks. Worth a listen if your feeds are barren due to holiday breaks in production.

I was gonna skip over this article because I’ve already read a similar one (with the same doc couple featured in this one). But I read it because of your comment and I’m glad I did. Lots of good stats. Thanks.

So long as the people at the top are still making money, no need to change the system.

    some_guy ,

Still trying to sell people that they’re better off than before the pan. I am. I got a new job with better benefits. But I got laid-off in two rounds of downsizing before that happened. And I’m sure not everyone who was laid-off has done better since. And the internet tells me people feel squeezed.

If the article said that things didn’t go south as much as we’d feared, I might believe it. But they keep reporting fucking miracles. And I don’t believe in miracles. I can see why conspiracy people feel alienated from news media (I’m not a conspiracy person).

I’m kinda surprised, but also relieved that conservatives won’t be able to point to my state and say we did what they expected. Looking forward to further disqualifications in states that aren’t targets for “bias.”

    some_guy ,

I don’t consider kicking him off the ballot for his traitorous actions an act of bias. I’m just saying that my state doing so (Cali) would be pointed to as bias because we’re “libs” (I’m a socialist).

I would like to believe this. And I even worked at a small (~25 people) company where this did happen. I just don’t think this will be the case for massive companies.

Swastika Night. It’s like 1984 if the nazis had won. Published in 1937. Enjoying so far.

    some_guy ,

I recently started a new position. I had to be escorted in and out for the first interview. On the way out, the hiring manager complimented me twice that I’d done so well in the interview. The second interview was over Zoom, so there was no shared elevator ride at the end, but I got the job.

It was at the lower end of what was advertised. And even though I’ve received really nice positive feedback a few time (today, “professionalism and patience” was mentioned, I think I’m getting close to the most my boss had a budget to give. I base this on observations and gut feeling, nothing empirical. Just a vibe I get.

I think the org lied on the job req. I blame HR rather than my boss. I actually quite like my boss.

He also broke down Donald Trump’s efforts to classify Mar-a-Lago as a social club in the 90s, which saw the former president signing a 1995 deed relinquishing his right to use the property as anything other than a club and a 2002 “Deed of Development” forever extinguishing his right to develop Mar-a-Lago and limiting changes to it, including division or subdivision for any purpose like use as single-family homes.

“Exacerbating defendants’ obstreperous conduct is their continued reliance on bogus arguments in papers and oral argument,” Engoron wrote in the filing. “In defendants’ world: rent regulated apartments are worth the same as unregulated apartments; restricted land is worth the same as unrestricted land; restrictions can evaporate into thin air; a disclaimer by one party casting responsibility on another party exonerates the other party’s lies; the Attorney General of the State of New York does not have capacity to sue or standing to sue (never mind all those cases where the Attorney General has sued successfully) under a statue expressly designed to provide that right; all illegal acts are untimely if they stem from one untimely act; and square footage subjective.”

Being a better person was hard when I sucked as a person. Once you work on yourself enough to be a “good” person, being better each day becomes a natural pursuit (if you want it).

I think the real challenge is wanting to be a better person enough to really pursue it. I didn’t watch the vid, so no idea how relevant my rant might be. I don’t have time for videos. Give me text. /End rant.
